Awards
De Fleury Medal
The de Fleury Medal honors and recognizes those individuals who have provided significant contributions to Army Engineering. The medal also emphasizes the history, customs, and traditions of the Engineer Regiment.
Essayons
The Essayons Award is an award presented by the Army Engineer Association. It was introduced in 2006 to recognize the regiment’s engineer spouses and to pay homage to all the great spouses across the Engineer Regiment.
Friend of the Regiment
The recipient of this award recognizes their tremendous sacrifice and support for Engineer Soldiers and Families through volunteerism, advocacy for the Regiment, and advancement of Key Engineer systems and priorities
Sapper and Miner Award of Distinction of 2025
The Sapper and Miner Award of Distinction (SMAD) is considered a lifetime service award (typically defined as 30 years) as a member of the Engineer Regiment, military and civilian, in any component.
Super Sapper Award
This award is an annual recognition for an outstanding Engineer Soldier (SPC and below) deemed the best in his/her Battalion, Separate Company/Detachment. The unit Command team determines its own selection procedure and performance criteria.
ACES Award
This award is an annual recognition for an Engineer Squad Leader/Section Sergeant deemed to be the best in his/her Battalion, separate Company or Detachment.
Sapper Spirit Award
The selected individual must be an outstanding Engineer School Graduate from specific courses.

Process

1. Register
Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.
2. Login
Login to the award with your email and password.
3. Create
Create your online application.
4. Save
During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the
icon in the Application Summary section.
5. Submit
On completion, save your Nomination as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.
